DeForest Spencer, CLU

DeForest (DeFo) is a partner and registered representative with Bluffview Insurance Group and founder and president of Spencer Benefits. He is a third-generation insurance advisor with more than 40 years of experience. He began his career with Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company as an advanced underwriter and marketing representative.

DeFo is past president and board member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and Chattanooga Association of Life Underwriters, the predecessor to NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors). He has served on the boards of the Georgia Association of Health Underwriters, North West Georgia Chapter, and the Lookout Mountain Club. Additionally, DeFo is registered representative of Lion Street, an elite national network of independent firms.

He is a graduate of Furman University and holds the CLU and LUTCF certifications. Outside of the office, DeFo enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing tennis.
